Our Staff

Our staff has completed course work in child development and early childhood education. All staff members have been fingerprinted and received health clearance prior to employment, and are CPR and First Aid certified. All staff members are members of NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) and its affiliates and CRECEF (Church Related Early Childhood Education Fellowship). The staff at FFUMC Preschool are all mandated reporters. The staff at FFUMC Preschool is required to take Mandated Reporter AB 1207 Compliant Child Care Training every 2 years in accordance with the California Department of Social Services.

Kelly Jimenez, Director

Kelly Jimenez studied Early Childhood Education at Cypress College, where she received her AA degree, and at California State University Fullerton. 

She has been involved with the Preschool since 1998, first as a parent and then as a teacher. She currently teaches in the oldest class and is the Director.  It is a program she is passionate about as all three of her children attended Preschool here.  

 

Kelly enjoys spending time with her husband, Robert and their three children. Her hobbies include family game night, hiking, reading and baking.

Kelly feels very blessed to work with young families. She is passionate about providing the best program where children can use play to develop socially, emotionally, creatively and spiritually.

Joanne Tran

Joanne Tran first studied Environmental Science at Cal State Long Beach with Environmental Science and Policy Bachelor of Arts Degree. She found her passion for working with children and has achieved her Early Childhood Education Certificate from North Orange Continuing Education. She is continuing to take additional classes at Orange Coast College. Her goal is to continue to work in the field and to achieve her Masters in Early Childhood Education.

 

She has been an active caregiver at Fullerton First Methodist Church’s Mom’s Morning Out Program. She has been furthering her formal education in early childhood development. 

 

Joanne enjoys spending time with her family. Her hobbies include physical activities like hiking, dancing, and working out. She also enjoys playing the piano, video games, listening to music and food adventures.

Kim Galea

Kim Galea has worked with children for over 30 years as the director of Family Ministries at Fullerton First UMC and enjoys teaching preschool.

 

She has been involved with the preschool since 1992 first as a parent then as a substitute teacher and has served on the Advisory Council since 1991. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from California State Fullerton in Child Development and Child Psychology.

 

Kim and her best friend Mike love catering, planning events, and cooking. Kim also loves spending time with her grandkids!

Diane Hargrave

Diane Hargrave received her degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, where she worked the University’s Child Service Center and Arkadelphia public schools. 

 

Diane has been involved with the Preschool since 1984, first as a member of the church (1984-present), then as the infant/toddler teacher (1988-1991), and finally as a teacher (1991-present). 

 

Diane has been married to John Hargrave for since 1979. They have two grown children, Kim and Zac and two grandsons. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, gardening, cooking, reading, listening to music, watching movies, and cheering for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
